Acting Principal, Mr. DAVID Archer

My name is David Archer, and I am very excited to introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal. I am honored that I was chosen to assist in leading such an amazing school community. I have heard nothing but positive things about the students, teachers and parent community of Susquehanna Township High School.  I’ve already had the opportunity to become acquainted with members of the leadership team and office staff, all of whom have been welcoming and enthusiastic about the school and upcoming school year.  The welcoming atmosphere has already helped me feel like part of the Susquehanna Township family.

With regard to my credentials, I come to you with 20 years of experience as an educator in urban and alternative settings as well as building community partnerships spanning the elementary, middle and high school levels.  During my career, I’ve had the privilege of engaging students as a paraprofessional, certified educator, and administrator.  Most recently, I have spent the last seven years in the Harrisburg School District as a Secondary Social Studies Teacher and Interim Assistant Principal at Rowland Academy.  I believe my professional and personal experiences will provide a new perspective to the successes of our school community.

My experiences have helped me acknowledge and appreciate the interconnection of the social, academic and behavioral transitions of students.  I wholeheartedly believe that great schools are the result of great teachers and staff focused on the best interests of the student.  My primary goal is to support you in your continued successes and to promote the achievements of our scholars.

I am excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to working with Dr. Smith and Ms. Jenkins to ensure that the scholars have a school year filled with quality instruction and fun.  I also look forward to meeting each of you.  In the coming weeks, if you have any questions of me, or would like to touch bases for a chat, please feel free to message me and we can arrange a mutual agreeable time to meet.

My name is Jessica Fisk, and I cannot express my excitement for the opportunity to introduce myself as your Assistant Principal. I have immensely enjoyed meeting all staff and community members here in Susquehanna School District, many of whom I have previously been acquainted with and am fully appreciating our reunion, and it is quite clear that we all have the same mission in mind of empowering all of our young people in becoming all that they were always meant to be. It takes a village to support our students, and I am honored to be welcomed into the Hanna family!

I grew up in Panama City Beach, Florida and Newport, Pennsylvania. I was a student-athlete and knew very early on that I wanted to help our young people in the same ways other adults helped me as a kid. I began working with students as a Field Hockey Coach in Newport School District and decided to pursue a career in Education. I started at Harrisburg Area Community College and graduated from Penn State University, Harrisburg. I began teaching at Rowland Academy Middle School in Harrisburg as an English teacher and fell in love with the reward of being a part of students’ success stories from the most difficult of circumstances. I then made the difficult choice of accepting a position at West Perry High School as an English teacher as my own child was enrolled in this District. While the reward of serving my own community in Perry County was one of the most fulfilling of my life, I made yet another difficult choice of accepting my current position as an Assistant Principal for Susquehanna Township High School. This choice was a result of my belief that it was meant to be. I have always had a passion for the culture of Urban Education through its ability to bring individuals from diverse backgrounds together in pursuit of the common goal of bringing life and opportunities to our children. The vision and mission of Susquehanna Township School District in providing a world-class education to every learner in every way, every day is at the root and core of my educational philosophy that those who can be successful with a strong village and support system behind them, will be successful. Thank you all for your warm welcome and your continued partnership. I look forward to continuing to meet each of you as staff, families, and community members as we all come together to serve our students. I am honored to be a part of this vision and mission, and I am beyond excited to come aboard and begin to find ways I can bring my strengths to this already impeccable team of educators.
